Mike Pecci’s award winning films have been called dark, emotional, peculiar, and captivating. As a filmmaker he is known for creating realistic characters with deep dark issues that audiences are forced to both detest and fall in love with. His work has been entertaining internet audiences as well as film festival attendees since he graduated from film school in 1999.
Mike was trained as an independent filmmaker at New York Film Academy in New York City. There he learned the skills needed to harness his ideas and produce projects from the ground up.
With over 6 years in the Boston Indie-film scene as a director of photography, Mike has acquired the resources and talent needed to bring his films to life. His reputation has enabled him to work with some of Boston’s best filmmakers as well as upcoming talents from New York. As a Cinematographer Mike works exclusively in the digital format and has pioneered new shooting techniques and digital grading effects. His digital images have held there own when broadcast against more expensive formats on MTV2, Fuse and have been mistaken for film on countless occasions.
As a director and producer Pecci tackles dark and strange subject matter that can be found in everyday life and will both challenge and entertain an audience. His internet show “Starvin with Louis” is a real life look at the lower middle class American and at how people can still have fun with no money. His short films have tackled Necrophilia, obsessions, and suicide and have won numerous awards at film festivals and have touched the hearts of fans all over the world.
